Linux Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server environments (v8v9)
• Develop and maintain advanced automation scripts using BASH, Perl, JavaScript, or Python
• Perform administration and O&M tasks from the command line
• Manage task automation using tools like Ansible and RHEL Satellite
• Handle package management across geographically dispersed environments
• Configure and manage NFTables, Firewalld, IPTables, ISC2 BIND DNS, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, and Postfix/SMTP Relay
• Administer Linux Server Clustering, NFSv3/NFSv4, PXE boot, and SELinux
• Support Mirantis Container Runtime, AWS, and GitLab
• Maintain detailed documentation for system designs, configurations, and processes
• Lead and mentor junior team members
• Ensure compliance with security hardening standards including CIS, NIST SP 80053 Rev. 5, and DISA STIGs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 10+ years of experience with Linux/UNIX systems and Windows interoperability
• Current Red Hat certification (RHCSA, RHCE, or RHCA)
• Strong scripting skills in BASH, Perl, JavaScript, or Python
• Experience with Ansible, RHEL Satellite, and other automation tools
• Familiarity with Mirantis Container Runtime, AWS, and GitLab
• Ability to participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation
