Linguistic Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build datasets, pipelines, and models for machine learning applications
• Support product development through the creation of rules, prompts, and data patches
• Evaluate model quality and product experiences to close the feedback loop
• Design and conduct product experiments to drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver projects from conceptualization to launch
• Identify best practices and improve procedures across data systems

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a data scientist, software engineer, computational linguist, or in a similar role
• Proficiency in programming and data analysis using Python, SQL, or PHP/Hack
• Experience with text analysis, scripting, and relational or NoSQL databases
• Experience shipping multiple products across various platforms
• Degree in Linguistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with machine learning and knowledge graph integrations
• Experience with large-scale scripting projects involving complex metrics and diverse data sources
• Advanced research or coursework in Computational Linguistics or Data Science
• Practical knowledge of the relationship between data and machine learning models
• Fluency in additional languages to support multilingual dataset development
• Experience implementing responsible and ethical AI practices, such as bias mitigation
