Linesman

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical power lines in compliance with industry standards
• Perform inspections and troubleshoot electrical faults on power lines and equipment
• Utilize appropriate tools and equipment safely to complete tasks efficiently
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to minimize risks on job sites
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and other team members to ensure project completion
• Operate vehicles and equipment such as bucket trucks and cranes safely and effectively
• Document work performed and report any issues or concerns promptly
• Respond to emergency outages and perform repairs as required in a timely manner

Requirements

• Relevant certification or qualification as a Linesman or Power Line Technician
• Proven experience working as a Linesman or in a similar electrical utility role
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety protocols, and power line installation techniques
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions safely
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different job sites as required
