Line Producer

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Producer in creating the daily broadcast by executing the day's editorial vision
• Serve as the backup Senior Producer and oversee daily rundown changes
• Supervise editorial content of the newscast and oversee all in-show graphics and story titles
• Write news scripts, teases, and pitch story ideas for day-of, next-day, and future segments
• Work closely with the show director, production crew, and senior producer to approve and copy edit all scripts
• Use leadership skills to motivate, mentor, and manage employees

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• At least 5 years of experience in live television (e.g., morning shows, cable, or broadcast TV)
• Minimum of 1 year of line producing experience
• Editorial experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment with the ability to respond quickly to change
• Proven experience using a story-first journalism approach
• Ability to work in New York, NY, under tight deadline pressure and flexible hours, including breaking news

• Ability to develop story ideas, research, and plan compelling segments
• Exceptional editorial skills with the ability to recognize high-potential television stories
• Strong knowledge of current events, politics, and pop culture
• Expert tease writing skills and strong overall writing ability
