Line Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate HDPE extrusion lines, adjusting and documenting operating conditions to meet customer specifications
• Monitor and adjust operating conditions to produce high-quality pipe safely and efficiently
• Ensure all products are produced free from cosmetic and physical defects and within manufacturing tolerances
• Review product and equipment throughout the shift to confirm material and quality requirements are met
• Oversee and document product quality and maintain accurate inventory transactions
• Record lost production hours and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate with other operators to maintain production schedules and perform tooling changes
• Serve as a backup to the Shift Supervisor when required

Requirements

• Strong mathematical skills for performing basic calculations and measurements
• Working knowledge of extruders, printers, reelers, vacuum systems, chiller systems, resin systems, and pullers
• Knowledge of downstream operator and reel builder job duties
• Familiarity with smooth core procedures and operations
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotation (Night Shift)
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods
• Valid lift truck/forklift license is a plus
