About the role
Responsibilities
- Physically operate an extrusion line to ensure products are produced without defects and within manufacturing tolerances
- Perform extrusion line start-ups, changeovers, and monitor/troubleshoot the extrusion process
- Adjust equipment including dosing systems, vacuum tanks, and thickness gauges to maintain quality standards
- Monitor production runs and maintain required documentation, including equipment downtime and causes
- Perform routine, basic maintenance on equipment
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe, neat, and orderly workspace
- Communicate with team members to ensure continuous production with minimal waste
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and ability to push/pull pipe coils
- Ability to stand in a stationary position 80-100% of the time
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Ability to read and write in English and communicate verbally
- Commitment to wearing required PPE, including gloves, eye protection, and steel-toe boots
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-year of extrusion or manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of PLC controlled and integrated equipment
- Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers
