Line Mechanic Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Perform operation, maintenance, and construction of overhead and underground electric systems
• Diagnose and correct problems related to the overhead electric system
• Ensure the safety of self, coworkers, the general public, and company property
• Respond to emergency calls 24/7 in all types of weather conditions
• Collaborate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and trade allies
• Execute physical requirements of the job and perform related less skilled work as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or other required certifications
• Three years of experience in overhead electric construction and maintenance or completion of a formal training program
• Ability to work 24/7 in emergency situations and respond to calls outside of regular hours
• Ability to pass job-specific tests and demonstrate technical skills
