About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of culinary customer service and promote a fine dining experience
- Work closely with the Director of Culinary Services to keep residents satisfied
- Maintain kitchen, food storage, and preparation areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition
- Responsible for the opening and/or closing of the kitchen
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and approved menus
- Document food and refrigeration temperatures
- Assist with the preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
- Ensure snacks and beverages are available to residents at all times
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a cook in hospitality or healthcare
- Valid food handlers permit as required by law
- Ability to read and follow recipes, production guides, and cleaning schedules
- Ability to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Strong focus on customer service and relationship building
