Lighting Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Translate project intentions into clear, achievable, and inspiring artistic directives
• Collaborate with VFX, CG, and Compositing Supervisors to ensure visual consistency
• Guide artists in shot execution and participate in dailies
• Approve lighting deliverables for artistic quality and seamless integration
• Ensure deliverables meet studio technical standards regarding nomenclature and optimization
• Participate in the development, testing, and documentation of lighting tools in Houdini
• Manage and motivate the lighting artist team with clarity and rigor
• Contribute to sequence planning, workload assessment, and deadline monitoring
• Define lighting approaches based on creative, technical, and budgetary constraints

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in lighting within the VFX industry
• At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
• Advanced mastery of Houdini for lighting
• Good knowledge of Karma, Arnold, and Nuke
• Excellent understanding of the VFX pipeline and CG-Compositing stages
• Advanced knowledge of Universal Scene Description (USD)
• Proficiency with ShotGrid for planning and tracking
• Strong leadership and strategic vision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in lighting tool development
• Participation in pipeline initiatives
• Experience in client or external presentations
