About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment for members
- Monitor pool areas to ensure safety and compliance with YMCA policies
- Build positive relations with members
- Maintain equipment and keep the aquatic area clean
- Attend weekly staff in-service trainings
- Coordinate with the Aquatics Coordinator/Director regarding substitutions
Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Current Lifeguard certification (YMCA or ARC)
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification (ASHI or ARC)
- First Aid certification (ASHI or ARC)
- Oxygen Administration certification (ASHI or ARC)
- Demonstrated swimming ability
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff
