About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment for members
- Perform all skills required for lifeguard certifications
- Communicate effectively with the public and staff
- Attend weekly staff in-service trainings
- Find substitutes when needed and report to the Aquatics Coordinator/Director
- Build member relations and maintain equipment
- Keep the aquatic area clean
Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certification
- Demonstrated swimming ability
- Ability to pass reference checks, criminal history background check, sex offender check, and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
- YMCA or ARC Lifeguard Training
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (ASHI or ARC)
- First Aid (ASHI or ARC)
- Oxygen Administration (ASHI or ARC)
