About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment for members
  • Perform all skills required for lifeguard certifications
  • Verbally communicate with the public and staff
  • Attend weekly staff in-service trainings
  • Find substitutes when needed and report to the Aquatics Coordinator/Director
  • Build member relations
  • Maintain equipment and keep the area clean

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • YMCA or ARC Lifeguard Training certification
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (ASHI or ARC)
  • First Aid (ASHI or ARC)
  • Oxygen Administration (ASHI or ARC)
  • Demonstrated swimming ability
