About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain the safety of all patrons at the Chris Kjeldsen Memorial Pool
- Enforce facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Perform water rescues and administer first aid as required
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve patron complaints
- Conduct visual inspections of the facility to detect and prevent hazards
- Maintain facility grounds, equipment, and a clean work environment
- Complete all required records and reports in a timely manner
- Remain at assigned posts until properly relieved
Requirements
- At least 15 years of age
- Current Lifeguard Training certification
- Current First Aid certification
- Current CPR/AED for the Professional certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Good physical health and ability to stand for long periods
- Willingness to work outdoors and during odd hours, nights, or weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
- Prior experience in lifeguarding or as an aquatics athlete
- Experience working with diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion
