Lifeguard

Responsibilities

• Supervise the aquatics area to ensure safety and prevent injuries during recreational swimming
• Test pH and chlorine levels during every shift and record results accurately
• Report all incidents and concerns to the Aquatics Coordinator and complete incident report forms
• Maintain a clean and tidy pool area, including wiping down yoga mats
• Perform facility tasks such as moving lane lines, setting up flags, and running the pool vacuum
• Assist with equipment setup, such as moving the pool ramp
• Secure the facility by turning out lights and locking up at the end of shifts

Requirements

• High School/GED graduate or current High School student
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Current Lifeguard certification from a credible source (e.g., American Red Cross)
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Current First Aid certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, and climbing
• Physical stamina to respond to emergencies in a potentially noisy or stressful environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working as a Lifeguard
