Lifeguard/Pool Attendant

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimming pool facilities and activities to ensure the safety of all patrons
• Maintain constant, vigilant surveillance of the water to identify swimmers in distress
• Enforce posted rules and regulations and proactively warn swimmers of dangerous behavior
• Administer first aid, CPR, and AED as necessary in the event of an incident
• Monitor and record pH and chlorine levels every two hours in accordance with DAFMAN 48-143
• Maintain facility cleanliness and identify/report any substandard conditions or safety deficiencies
• Teach youth swim lessons for children of active-duty military from mid-June to late July
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain accountability for government property

Requirements

• Current internationally or nationally recognized water rescue certifications
• Current Adult and Child CPR and AED training
• Current internationally or nationally recognized Swim Instructor Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of lifeguard experience
• English language proficiency at the B2-C1 level
• Spanish Class B driver’s license and a vehicle for transport to the job site
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with children in a teaching environment
