Lifeguard

Responsibilities

• Monitor guests in water and recreational facilities, providing constant surveillance of pool areas to ensure guest safety
• Act as a first responder to emergency situations, executing life-saving techniques, CPR, and first aid procedures
• Enforce policies, rules, and regulations of all water and recreational facilities
• Set up water and recreational facilities and maintain cleanliness and readiness
• Adhere to all Lifeguard requirements, regulations, and compliance standards
• Monitor radio communication with Lifeguard Coordinators and Recreation Managers
• Proactively engage with Guests by addressing needs and answering questions
• Perform emergency duties as specified in the ship Assembly Stations and Emergency Evacuation Plan
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting guests and prolonged standing in outdoor settings

Requirements

• Minimum six months of recent work experience in a lifeguard capacity in a high-volume pool setting
• Ability to pass a pre-hire swim and complete lifeguard training in Orlando, Florida
• Ability to pass a vision screening with at least 20/25 vision (corrected or uncorrected)
• High level of fitness and strong swimming abilities
• At least 21 years of age
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Willingness to live and work onboard a vessel for extended periods
• Ability to work a seven-day, 70-84 hour week with limited time off
• Ability to share a cabin with other crew members

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a lifeguard capacity in an open water setting
• Previous experience with boats, snorkel equipment, or other recreational equipment
• Good computer skills and operational knowledge
