Lifeguard and Swim Instructor

Responsibilities

• Monitor the pool area to prevent accidents, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies
• Provide swim instruction and discuss student performance and next steps with parents
• Maintain a safe and clean aquatic environment, including pool deck and locker room cleaning
• Conduct safety drills and emergency response procedures to ensure preparedness
• Assist with guest services by answering questions and ensuring a welcoming experience
• Arrive 5-10 minutes before assigned shifts to prepare for duties
• Participate in bi-monthly team trainings to maintain professional skills

Requirements

• Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated swimming competency (a swim test will be conducted during the interview)
• Ability to perform heavy lifting for pool equipment or cleaning supplies
• Knowledge of pool maintenance practices, including chemical handling and cleaning
• Excellent guest service skills and a professional attitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in swimming instruction or teaching
• Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
