About the role

Responsibilities

  • Identify effective communication methods for complex and sensitive issues
  • Support tenants in developing personal, domestic, and community life skills
  • Promote health, safety, and security, including medication administration
  • Support tenants in maintaining their physical environment and self-care skills
  • Contribute to the prevention and management of challenging behavior
  • Maintain accurate manual and computerized records and reports
  • Comply with legislative requirements and care standards
  • Participate in continuous training and professional development

Requirements

  • Experience working with individuals with autism, complex needs, or behavioral challenges
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and use behavioral support strategies
  • Willingness to perform physical care tasks, such as toileting
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping and email
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work a 4-week rolling rota including early, late, and weekend shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of communication and learning strategies such as TEACCH or PECS
  • Compliance with SSSC registration and qualification requirements
