Life Safety Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engineered solutions for life safety systems, including toxic gas monitoring and fire protection systems
• Interpret and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes (AHJ, IFC, IBC, NFPA, etc.) and industry standards
• Lead life safety design and operations efforts in coordination with project teams and subcontractors
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including local code officials, for reviews, audits, and inspections
• Support hazard identification, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to ensure system reliability and performance

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Fire Protection, Electrical, or related)
• 7-10 years of experience in life safety or fire protection systems
• Proven ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements and complex codes
• Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills
• Experience leading design efforts and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
