Life Enrichment Worker

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and assist with group programs, one-to-one activities, and special events
• Assess Residents’ recreation, leisure, therapeutic, and restorative care needs
• Develop individualized care plans to support well-being
• Support Residents in participating in programs
• Complete documentation, care plans, and MDS coding accurately
• Continue therapy programs as directed by therapists
• Maintain program supplies, equipment, and seasonal decorating
• Provide guidance to volunteers and students
• Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma, degree, or certificate in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, or Gerontology
• Computer skills including Email, Word, Care Planning, and Graphics
• Knowledge of PCC and ActivityPro
• First Aid certification (every 3 years)
• CPR certification (annually)
• Food Handler’s certification (every 5 years)
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) completed within the past 6 months
• Updated TB 2 Step within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Life Enrichment in Long Term Care
• Restorative Care training
