Life Enrichment Worker

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and assist with group programs, one-to-one activities, and special events
• Assess Residents’ recreation, leisure, therapeutic, and restorative care needs
• Develop individualized care plans to support well-being
• Participate in behavioural assessments and use tracking tools
• Follow BSO referral, assessment, and documentation processes
• Support Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives
• Monitor and improve care services using data and observation
• Communicate effectively with Residents, families, and team members
• Respond to and report Resident and family inquiries

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma, degree, or certificate in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, or Gerontology
• First Aid certification (every 3 years)
• CPR certification (annually)
• Food Handler’s certification (every 5 years)
• Computer skills including Email, Word, Care Planning, and Graphics

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in Life Enrichment in Long Term Care
• Restorative Care training
• Working knowledge of PCC and ActivityPro
