Blue Energy’s mission is to unlock energy abundance, energy affordability, energy security, and turn-key decarbonization by developing the fastest path to deploying new nuclear MWs at scale. We are utilizing shipyard manufacturing supply chains and techniques from offshore oil and wind to reduce the cost of nuclear plants by over 60%.
Responsibilities
- Support Senior Licensing Engineers in executing Blue Energy’s licensing strategy to enable nuclear project development
- Develop written licensing products, including detailed technical reports and responses to NRC questions
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment between regulatory requirements and engineering designs
- Interface with the NRC and international regulatory bodies such as IAEA and NEA
- Participate in workshops, regulatory meetings, audits, and inspections
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science (Physics, Chemistry, etc) or Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
- Desire to learn NRC regulations, licensing processes, and safety standards
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial or Navy nuclear power
- Experience working on research reactors or advanced reactors
- Experience in safety-critical fields such as aerospace or chemical
- Progress toward a Professional Engineering (PE) license
