Licensed Vocational Nurse

Responsibilities

• Direct patients to proper exam/treatment areas and prepare them for examinations and procedures
• Obtain vital signs and pertinent patient information to report to the RN or clinician
• Administer medication and perform various patient tests under clinical supervision
• Notify pharmacies of new prescriptions and refill authorizations as ordered
• Collect, label, and transport various medical specimens to appropriate destinations
• Maintain and clean exam/treatment areas and medical equipment
• Maintain logs, medical procedure records, and supply inventories
• Perform telephone screening and other additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program
• Active, unrestricted LVN license from the state of California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain at time of hire)
• I.V. and Blood withdraw certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification
• 1+ years of experience working as an LVN/LPN
