Licensed Vocational Nurse

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care within scope of practice under supervision
• Manage patient assignments during assigned shifts
• Document vital signs, treatment responses, and nursing care
• Report abnormal changes in patient health or mental status to RN or provider
• Process and document provider orders using approved abbreviations
• Collect and process patient specimens
• Administer medications, injections, and maintain nasogastric tube feeds
• Assist with patient examinations, positioning, and wound care
• Contribute to individualized treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team
• Participate in daily controlled substance counts
• Assist with patient transitions, transfers, and transportation arrangements
• Respond to emergency situations

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Active LVN license in the state of Texas
• BLS certification
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of mental health experience
• IV skills or certification
• Experience with nasogastric tubes
