About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing care in both hospital and ranch settings
- Provide anesthesia monitoring and surgical support, including intubation and pre/post-operative care
- Execute dental procedures such as scaling, polishing, extractions, and suturing
- Manage IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, and the application of casts, bandages, and splints
- Conduct laboratory tasks including cytology set-up and interpretation
- Perform diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- Utilize proper animal handling and restraint techniques for a variety of species including large and small animals, birds, and exotics
Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligibility to transfer/acquire a state license within 3 months of hire
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to participate in a rotating, after-hours on-call schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a technician or assistant
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program
