About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing care in both hospital and ranch settings
  • Provide anesthesia monitoring and surgical support, including intubation and pre/post-operative care
  • Execute dental procedures such as scaling, polishing, extractions, and suturing
  • Manage IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, and the application of casts, bandages, and splints
  • Conduct laboratory tasks including cytology set-up and interpretation
  • Perform diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
  • Utilize proper animal handling and restraint techniques for a variety of species including large and small animals, birds, and exotics

Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligibility to transfer/acquire a state license within 3 months of hire
  • Strong understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to participate in a rotating, after-hours on-call schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a technician or assistant
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program
