Licensed Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis and obtain high-quality dental radiographs
• Monitor anesthesia independently and confidently
• Calculate medications, CRIs, and anesthetic protocols accurately
• Prepare patients for surgery and dental procedures
• Intubate patients safely and efficiently
• Place IV catheters and collect diagnostic samples
• Perform laboratory diagnostics and patient monitoring
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures
• Monitor patients through recovery and hospitalization
• Support doctors during appointments and treatment plans
• Educate clients regarding treatments, medications, and preventive care
• Collaborate with the hospital team to maintain workflow standards

Requirements

• Active New York Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) license
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred
• Strong dentistry and anesthesia experience
• Proficiency in dental radiographs and dental prophylaxis
• Strong medical math and drug calculation skills
• Excellent patient handling and nursing care skills
• Strong communication and client education skills
