About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide remote, clinically and culturally competent short-term individual and group counseling to Southeast Asian American youth, families, and adults.
- Conduct screenings, intakes, and initial psych-assessments to build rapport and identify client needs.
- Develop and implement mental health treatment plans and maintain continuous clinical documentation.
- Identify and respond to crisis situations, including risk assessment and safety planning.
- Maintain accurate client case files in compliance with HIPAA, state, and agency policies.
- Perform timely data entry in Salesforce and manage documentation for external funders.
- Facilitate community wellness workshops and lead the Southeast Asian Clinicians Network (SEACN).
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Active California licensure as an LMFT, MFCC, LPCC, or LCSW.
- Experience working with diverse, low-income communities and culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Expertise in crisis intervention techniques and evidence-based psychotherapy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with CRM systems like Salesforce.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in an Asian or Southeast Asian language (e.g., Khmer, Lao, Thai, or Vietnamese).
- Clinical experience addressing behavioral health issues related to immigration, migration, and social justice.
- Deep knowledge of issues regarding race, class, and ethnicity.
- Demonstrated cultural responsiveness and humility in therapeutic settings.
