About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of holistic resident care.
  • Provide nursing services and interventions to patients and residents with stable and predictable health status.
  • Coordinate health services and provide support in activities of daily living, including medication administration.
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses and supervisors when resident conditions change or fall outside the LPN scope of practice.
  • Provide safety and health information to individuals and their families.
  • Participate in safety programs and follow OH&S directives regarding infection control, lifts, and transfers.
  • Assist in the orientation of new employees.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nurse program or equivalent.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC (CPLBC).
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Competence in using various computer software applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties required for this position.
  • Ability to undergo and successfully pass applicable background and abuse registry screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an acute or community healthcare setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a responsive, outgoing attitude.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
