Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide technical nursing care to pediatric through adult populations within the Acute Psych Services Department
• Perform treatments and procedures within established guidelines to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Participate in data collection related to patient status and needs
• Provide direct patient care and communicate pertinent information to Registered Nurses for care plan incorporation
• Instruct patients and significant others on health/illness states and discharge preparation
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately
• Initiate emergency procedures as required

Requirements

• Current New Jersey LPN license
• Demonstrated strong clinical nursing specialty
• Excellent communication skills
• PC literacy with proficiency in word processing
• Leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• At least six to twelve months of recent experience as an LPN in an acute care setting
• Phlebotomist and/or medical assistant certification
• Recent clinical experience in a relevant clinical specialty
