Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide technical nursing care to assigned patients within a correctional environment
• Administer total patient care based on individualized needs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Participate in data collection regarding patient status and communicate pertinent information to the care team
• Perform treatments and procedures within established professional guidelines
• Instruct patients and significant others on health status and plans of care
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately
• Assist in preparing patients for discharge and maintaining health post-release

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registration in the State of New Jersey
• Valid CPR Certification
• Valid Driver’s License
• Access to a personal vehicle or alternative reliable means of transportation between sites
• Physical capacity to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes
• Ability to assist in lifting and rotating patients (up to 50 pounds)
• Must be able to obtain approval from the Department of Corrections (DOC)

Preferred Qualifications

• At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting
