About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under physician or RN supervision
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and treatment responses
- Assist with pre-, intra-, and post-operative care and patient education
- Start, maintain, and discontinue IVs
- Administer medications and maintain accurate records
- Perform diagnostic tasks including glucose testing, EKG, and blood draws
- Manage patient flow and clinical documentation accuracy
- Maintain controlled substances and infection control protocols
- Oversee emergency equipment readiness and participate in drills
- Operate clinical and surgical equipment
- Assist with specimen collection and processing
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
- Active LPN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in patient assessment and perioperative care
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing (ADN or BSN)
- Prior nursing experience in surgical, perioperative, Med/Surg, or critical care settings
