Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Responsibilities

• Deliver efficient nursing care and achieve positive clinical outcomes under the supervision of an RN or Nursing Manager
• Collect, report, and document objective and subjective patient data
• Contribute to individualized patient care planning and implement interventions
• Administer medications and perform treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor and supervise patient care provided by non-licensed staff
• Communicate pertinent patient data to RNs, physicians, and families
• Prepare patients and families for discharge through education and coordination
• Maintain strict confidentiality and protect sensitive Protected Health Information (HIPAA)
• Participate in quality improvement activities and mandated in-service programs

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program
• Valid state LPN license
• Current CPR certification
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) to ensure patient safety
• Ability to work a schedule that includes every other weekend
• Ability to stay beyond scheduled shifts as needed to meet staffing or patient needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a skilled nursing environment
