Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care in Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas, ambulatory/outpatient clinics, and outpatient labs
• Prepare, administer, and document oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications
• Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical histories
• Assist with patient hygiene and activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Perform wound care and assist with minor surgical procedures
• Educate patients and families regarding health management and disease prevention
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation

Requirements

• Successful completion of the NCLEX-PN
• Current unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Two years of current experience in a primary care setting, including work within the last six months
• Graduate of a state-approved school of practical/vocational nursing
• Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card required
• Ability to pass VA Public Trust Clearance and South Carolina criminal background check
