Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients in Specialty and Primary Care Clinics, including Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas and outpatient labs.
• Prepare, administer, and document oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications as permitted by facility policy.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical histories, reporting changes to RNs or physicians.
• Assist with patient hygiene, activities of daily living, wound care, and minor surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans and educate families on disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and documentation.
• Respond to patient calls and assist in emergency situations as needed.

Requirements

• Successful completion of the NCLEX-PN.
• Current unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the US.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Two (2) years of current experience in a primary care setting (including work within the last six months).
• Graduate of a state-approved school of practical/vocational nursing.
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder.
• Ability to pass a VA Public Trust Clearance and South Carolina criminal background check.
