Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and perform technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed
• Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters and patient conditions on flow sheets
• Administer intravenous medications in accordance with physician orders and state laws
• Assist in developing and following teaching plans to educate patients and families regarding renal disease and diet
• Safely operate and perform minor troubleshooting on dialysis-related equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary treatment environment in accordance with bloodborne pathogen policies
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, dietitians, and social workers, to coordinate care plans

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN)
• Current and appropriate State licensure
• Valid CPR Certification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet Ishihara's Color Blindness test requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Previous experience in hemodialysis
• Experience in an ICU setting
