Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Perform initial nursing assessments upon new patient arrival
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Transcribe, identify, disperse, and document medications
• Transcribe and forward doctors' orders to appropriate departments
• Review and sign off on orders transcribed by other personnel
• Supervise patient transitions and transfers between units or facilities
• Communicate with psychiatrists, medical doctors, and patients to facilitate care
• Lead shift reports to ensure continuity of care
• Oversee completion of laboratory and diagnostic testing
• Perform blood draws for fasting and emergency testing
• Apply understanding of bio-psycho-social etiology of eating disorders to treatment

Requirements

• 1 year of psychiatric or medical nursing experience
• Active state LPN license
