Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Nurse in carrying out the plan of care
• Perform specialized procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse under physician's orders
• Assist with the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the patient plan of care
• Collaborate with the IDG to ensure the patient's plan of care is current
• Reinforce teaching to patients and family members regarding end of life care
• Participate in team and staff conferences to foster cooperative effort

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program
• Three years of nursing experience
• Current LPN/LVN license in the State of Oklahoma
• Licensed driver with a reliable, insured automobile
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and the needs of the terminally ill
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in community health, hospice, or medical/surgical environments
