About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Nurse in carrying out the plan of care
- Perform specialized procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse under physician's orders
- Assist with the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the patient plan of care
- Collaborate with the IDG to ensure the patient's plan of care is current
- Reinforce teaching to patients and family members regarding end of life care
- Participate in team and staff conferences to foster cooperative effort
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program
- Three years of nursing experience
- Current LPN/LVN license in the State of Oklahoma
- Licensed driver with a reliable, insured automobile
- Understanding of hospice philosophy and the needs of the terminally ill
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community health, hospice, or medical/surgical environments
