Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, and Executive Director
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants
• Mentor and guide Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their roles
• Coordinate care needs with community providers via effective case management
• Balance service demands with supporting resident independence
• Assist in the prevention and reporting of elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response systems

Requirements

• Current state license as an LPN
• Valid CPR certification
• Graduate of an approved LPN program

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse
• Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer capacity
