Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support for individuals with high levels of poly-substance use and complex acute/chronic conditions
• Work independently and collaboratively with the SAFER team to support participants accessing pharmaceutical alternatives
• Provide assessment, screening, education, referrals, and advocacy regarding substance use, mental health, and sexual health
• Develop and maintain individualized care plans with ongoing monitoring
• Administer medications as ordered by program physicians according to clinical protocols
• Collaborate with community partners to ensure seamless support for participants

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse registered with the BCCNM
• 1 to 5 years of nursing experience with poly-substance use and mental health challenges
• Experience in supervised consumption, overdose prevention, or harm reduction programs
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice, anti-racism, and decolonization
• Knowledge of medical approaches to substance use disorder and opiate agonist treatment
• Ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and use of own vehicle is an asset
