About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide care and support for individuals with high levels of poly-substance use and complex acute/chronic conditions
- Perform assessment, screening, education, and referrals regarding substance use, mental health, and sexual health
- Develop and maintain individualized care plans with participants
- Administer medications as ordered by program physicians according to clinical protocols
- Provide harm reduction support through collaborative risk reduction strategies
- Collaborate with community partners to ensure seamless participant support
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse registered with the BCCNM regulator
- 1 to 5 years of nursing experience with poly-substance use and mental health challenges
- Experience in supervised consumption, overdose prevention, or safer supply programs
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, harm reduction, and anti-racism
- Knowledge of medical approaches to substance use disorder and opiate agonist treatment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and crisis management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and use of own vehicle
- Lived experience relevant to the position
