Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care and administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Assist physicians with equipment preparation, examinations, and testing
• Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to treatments
• Prepare patients for examinations and instruct them in sample collection
• Schedule patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions
• Manage medical phone triage, including patient and family instructions
• Formulate and update patient care plans and maintain patient records
• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes
• Perform lab procedures and processing of lab specimens
• Maintain disinfection protocols for exam, chemo, and procedure rooms
• Arrange for pre-authorizations and pre-certifications

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Current CPR certification
• 0-3 years of experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting
