Licensed Optician

Responsibilities

• Dispense and fit glasses and contact lenses based on prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists
• Assist patients in selecting frames based on style, color, and facial measurements
• Educate patients on specific lenses, coatings, and frames to meet their unique needs
• Operate optical equipment including manual/auto-lensometers, autorefractor/keratometer, and retinal cameras
• Accurately collect ocular measurements such as pupillary distance, seg heights, and vertex distance
• Maintain high standards for frame organization, cleaning, and presentation
• Provide high-quality medical support and retail service to ensure a world-class patient experience

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• ABO Certification
• NCLE Certification
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or patient interaction
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and state/federal regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and fine motor tasks for grasping and typing

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous optometric or medical office experience
• Associate's Degree
