About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled electrical tasks to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify complex industrial equipment and systems
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions or equipment failures
  • Execute preventative and corrective electrical maintenance
  • Assist in the installation, calibration, and start-up of new equipment
  • Apply knowledge of electrical schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial control systems, and programmable logic controls (PLC)
  • Comply with all corporate policies related to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR)
  • Monitor and ensure HACCP/FDA requirements are met in all food and feed processes

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Possession of Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A certification (Ontario College of Trades or Red Seal)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.)
  • English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SAP or CMMS
  • Prior experience in production-related work
  • Experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Reliability processes and Predictive Technologies
  • Automation control, boiler, and steam systems training
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
  • Welding certification or other multi-trade experience (machinist, pipe fitting, etc.)
