About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide behavioral health care, including psychotherapy and assessments, to service members and their families within an operational unit.
- Apply social work procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidence-based therapies.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychological and neuropsychological disorders using individual, family, group, and couple's therapy.
- Conduct alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and produce reports of evaluation and treatment.
- Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as required.
- Perform case management functions and assess barriers to treatment adherence.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Secret or Top Secret Clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
- Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) or equivalent degree from a CSWE-accredited graduate school.
- Unrestricted clinical license to independently practice social work in any one of the 50 states, D.C., Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Minimum of two (2) years of peer-reviewable clinical social work experience in a mental health setting.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
- Fluency in English (oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Government setting, such as a DOD or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF.
- Experience in brief behavioral interventions.
- Ability to maintain clinical practice privileges and credentialing requirements at a local MTF.
