About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support daily library operations and maintain an organized, student-friendly environment
  • Catalog books, digital resources, and audiovisual materials using recognized systems
  • Manage circulation activities, including check-in/check-out procedures and overdue follow-up
  • Assist students and faculty in locating and accessing library resources
  • Organize, shelve, and maintain library materials according to classification standards
  • Conduct collection inventories and assist in updating library resources
  • Maintain accurate physical and electronic catalog records
  • Provide coverage and assume operational responsibilities in the absence of the Librarian
  • Prepare reports related to library activities and resource utilization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an academic or educational library environment
  • Knowledge of Dewey Decimal System, Library of Congress Classification, or similar systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other digital tools
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is preferred
