About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct assistance at library service desks to help students and faculty access collections and resources
  • Manage the circulation of library materials and equipment, including check-out and check-in functions
  • Oversee library operations, services, and facilities during evening and weekend hours
  • Serve as the primary staff member in charge on Saturdays and conduct facility closing procedures
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate student assistants during evening and Saturday shifts
  • Utilize the Alma Library Services Platform to support circulation and access services
  • Troubleshoot library technology, including computers, printers, scanners, and loanable devices
  • Coordinate facility-related requests and submit work orders to Facilities Management and Safety

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of library-related experience
  • 1 year of supervisory or training experience
  • Knowledge of Library of Congress classification system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrable academic library experience
  • Direct experience providing service to students and faculty members
  • Experience using Library Services Platforms (LSP)
