Library and Research Analyst

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal, business, and other research and reference work using legal and non-legal information resources
• Perform effective reference interviews and distill results into clear reports
• Evaluate information sources for currency, reliability, relevance, and cost-effectiveness
• Assist in instructing attorneys and legal assistants in the use of research tools
• Maintain proficiency in resources including Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, Pacer, WK VitalLaw, and Lex Machina
• Utilize request tracking software to process research requests

Requirements

• MLS or demonstrated relevant professional research experience
• 4-6 years of experience in a private law firm, academic law library, or special library
• Experience with legal and business information resources and online database searching
• Proficiency in Lexis, Westlaw, and other standard legal research databases
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
