About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead an ambitious, internationally competitive research program focused on blood cancer prevention, early detection, and diagnostics
  • Build and lead a high-performing, inclusive research team and supervise higher degree research students
  • Mentor early- and mid-career academics and foster interdisciplinary collaboration across UWA and external partners
  • Strengthen the relationship between UWA and the Leukaemia Foundation, representing both organisations nationally and internationally
  • Contribute to strategic partnerships with funding bodies, philanthropy, government, and industry

Requirements

  • Internationally recognised academic leader in blood cancer or related blood disorders
  • Distinguished record of research excellence and competitive grant success
  • Proven track record of translational impact and academic leadership
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences
  • Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
