Legislative Affairs Support Officer – Senior

Responsibilities

• Support client interactions with the Legislative Branch, including elected officials, committees, and staff.
• Serve as a principal advisor to senior leadership on legislative affairs and engagement strategies.
• Monitor and report on congressional activities, including hearings, legislation, and nominations.
• Develop and review documentation for congressional audiences, such as budget justifications and official letters.
• Conduct research on congressional members, staff, and legislative content to support engagements.
• Coordinate logistics and prepare briefing materials for onsite engagements and Capitol Hill visits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• 10+ years of experience managing complex communication initiatives and advising senior executives.
• In-depth knowledge of the legislative process and experience working with congressional staff.
• Active Top Secret SCI security clearance.
• Proven ability to synthesize complex information into clear, professional written formats.
• Understanding of defense and intelligence budget cycles and related oversight.
