About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with litigation support, including the preparation of correspondence, legal documents, and charts.
- Manage electronic and non-electronic court filings with various state and federal courts using MiFile and PACER.
- Maintain and coordinate attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments, depositions, and meetings.
- Process conflict clearance requests and new business intake (NBI) documentation.
- Organize and maintain digital and hard files within document management systems like NetDocs.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including specialized messenger services and exhibits.
- Manage travel arrangements and prepare detailed itineraries for attorneys.
- Assist with time entry, expense reports, and billing inquiries.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of legal support experience with strong litigation support skills.
- Proficiency in state and federal court electronic filing procedures (MiFile and PACER).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Typing speed of 55+ WPM.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of post-high school education.
- Experience supporting practice groups such as Product Liability, Financial Services, Corporate & Business, or Labor & Employment.
- Familiarity with business management systems such as NetDocuments, Elegrity, FileTrail, or Chrome River.
- Experience using redlining tools.
